Will never return to this place or recommend it to anyone. I dropped my car off on 2/4/25 for them to fix a rattling sound. They called me later and said the belt tensioner was worn and needed replaced, which they did on 2/5/25. Cost was $832.78. On the way home after picking up the car, I noticed the rattling sound was still there. I called them and they told me to bring it back. When I got there, they wanted one of their mechanics to ride with me so that he could here the rattling sound, which he did. I left the car there again for them to work on. They called me later and said that it was fixed and the rattling sound was gone. Another charge of $98.80. On the way home after picking it up again, the rattling sound was still there. When I got home, I called them again to let them know that the rattling sound was still there, but I was not going to bring it back to them again. I told them to mark their records that the sound was still there. While going over the paperwork, I noticed that they stated the rattle was due to "cross wind". It also stated that I may hear the noise again in the future but there is nothing to worry about safety-wise. I don't know how they can make a statement like that when it is obvious they don't know what is causing the rattle or how to fix it. After spending $931.58 on this, I am still left with the same problem. And, by the way, when I originally dropped the car off the first time, I also gave them a discount coupon which they had mailed to me a few weeks earlier, which was not deducted from my bill. Update 2/7/25: I just wanted to let everyone know that the manager called me yesterday to discuss this with me. She asked how they could make this right. I told her that I am just not interested in doing business with Milex anymore. She said she would have the owner call me, which he did this morning. He made an offer for me to bring the car back for them to look at again at no charge. I declined, but I wanted everyone to know that they did offer to make this right, which is why I changed the rating from a 1 to a 3.
I apologize for not explaining the repair properly. As a shop, we have to prioritize safety recommendations. The repair you were charged for was safety-related and could have left you stranded. At our shop, safety always comes first followed by maintenance. Sincerely, Milex Complete Auto Team
